- Honolulu, Hawaii
We've got another campaign event for Barack Obama in Hawaii. On June 9th, we'll have a walk for change where volunteers around the country are canvassing neighborhoods to pass out flyers.
Aloha Pride Parade
This coming Saturday, June 2nd is the Aloha Pride Parade through Waikiki. Jana and Pam have started the Aloha Pride Band, Hawaii's first gay and lesbian marching band, and will march in the parade.
Ants
Not much other news except that Sue and I are sitll getting eaten alive each night by Hawaiian fire ants. We've tried Boric acid, ortho pellets with permethrin, ortho spray, Grants Ant Stakes, Raid, ant baits and poisons of all shapes and sizes. So far the ants are still winning. They have chewed through curtains, cereal boxes, and packaging. Last week they managed to eat a critical part of the thermostat in our water heater leaving us without hot water for four days. Since the exterminator appointment is still a few days off, I'm looking for other answers.
Update: I've gotten a suggestion for a last ditch plan for getting rid of ants. Dig a trench around the entire house, and fill it with gasoline or kerosene.
