Aloha Friends,
I'm happy to announce the birth of our daughter today. Here is our first baby picture.
She was 5 pounds 8 ounces at birth and is doing well. We do not yet have a name for her - Sue will be choosing the first name. Bishop Dean Okimura of the Koboji Shingon Mission will be choosing a Japanese middle name. I get to choose the last name, which to avoid confusion, will be Fry.
Sue is doing fine too, although she will be recovering for a while. She is anxious to be back on her feet after eight weeks of bed rest and five weeks in the hospital. Mahalo to all the great people at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children who have taken such great care of mother and baby, and for the cards and well wishes from our friends and family. Thanks also to Sue's co-workers at Laird Christianson, and to Dennis and Karen Stahl who have been so accomodating in her extended absence.
Here's one more picture -- since she's a Halloween baby they gave her a little pumpkin hat. Since she remains nameless, the nurses are calling her 'small fry', a name I remember from my childhood.
I'll post more pictures in the coming days...
